About Me

Clara Turchi
Italian born Clara Turchi is a photography-based artist graduated in Photography at the London College of Communication (First Class Honours). Her practice is an active investigation into the medium, from the retention of the colours (or lack of), to the issues of time, perception and perspective, to the inscrutable surface that hides the hand of the artist. Each piece is conceptually approached, creatively exploited and lovingly cared into the smallest detail. Her pictures have been published and exhibited extensively in the UK and Italy; among others she has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2010, What Now? 2011 at Siobhan Davies Studios, had her first solo showcase of works in London (previously in Italy) at Bayeux in August & September 2011, has participated into the Photofusion AMPS/11, and recently she was part of PAPERCUTS & Plasters, exhibition curated by international artist Alana Lake. In Autumn 2012 Clara's work will be seen at Galleria Uno+Uno in Milan and at Panorama in Turin. For the past 8 years Clara has lived and worked in London but she has recently moved to New York City to attend the MFA at the School of Visual Arts.
